After upgrading their slightly outdated Auto Focus system to beat Nikons, Canon has recently submitted a patent that might hint of a dual viewfinder system in future DSLRs. Its purpose is simple, why click a picture and look at the main display screen to see if its the perfect shot?.

The technology patented uses a rather interesting viewfinder system, with a small backlit LCD (or OLED) inside the finder to project the previously captured images onto a mirror on the pentaprism, allowing you to see the picture you just took in the (traditionally optical) viewfinder. So instead of you taking a picture, and having to take your face away from the camera to check out the picture on the display, you can keep your face glued to the viewfinder, and see the picture you just took!

Canon EOS 7D

The EOS 7D is Canons new Semi Pro DSLR. At the heart there’s an 18 megapixel sensor and dual DIGIC 4 processors. The EOS 7d shoots stills at 8 FPS with ISO from 100 to 6,400 and a special 12,800 ISO mode. The 3-inch LCD has a 920,000 dot resolution, while the viewfinder offers 100% coverage and a built-in digital level.

The camera is capable of shooting in full HD movie capability. The EOS 7D was found to produce virtually no “visible noise” all the way up to ISO 1600, and features a 100 percent frame-covering viewfinder and fast 19-point AF. It also features a weather-sealed, highly ergonomic body design, amazingly fast processing and a sensor

It the new Canon’s EOS 1D Mark 4. The beautiful 1.3x crop-frame camera has a top ISO of 102,400, a 16 megapixel sensor and shoots at ten frames per second.

We shall get to the specifications in a while, What keeps this camera apart from the rest is its ability to shoot video in 1080p. Yes that’s video in full HD. Nikon only manages to get to 720p, and the video is shot in jpeg motion files.
